The revival season of Canada’s Got Talent crowned their first winner after several weeks of a tight competition. Canadian Voters Crash The Canada’s Got Talent Voting Website

Canadians voted in record amounts for the Got Talent finale. Before the second hour of the series the Canada’s Got Talent voting site crashed. By the end of the night, Jeanick and Kellie were the last acts standing. Before announcing the winner, Howie Mandel explained the impact Canada had while voting.

“Canada and Canada’s Got Talent broke the internet. I was on Twitter, it crashed. We have never had a rush on any show, any where, on any network in Canada that has taken this amount of votes,” Mandel said.

Votes were then tallied, revealing Jeanick as the winner of the series. Her win came as no surprise to fans of the series. This 49 year old has shined on the CGT stage since her Golden Buzzer audition.

Jeanick Fournier Wins Canada’s Got Talent

The Chicoutimi, Quebec native came to stage as a palliative care attendant that sang as a hobby. At the time, she noted that she wanted to win the competition to give a better life to her two children that have been diagnosed with down’s syndrome.

You could hear a pin drop during Jeanick’s first performance of “I Surrender” by Celine Dion. Her voice was so impressive that host Lindsay Ell hit the Golden Buzzer. At the time, the host expressed that Jeanick’s talent was exactly what the competition was looking for.

This impressive singer went on to impress in the competition. In the semifinals, she performed a powerful rendition of “Never Enough” from The Greatest Showman. Many would have been nervous to perform this song since the original singer’s Britain’s Got Talent audition, but Jeanick performed this song with ease. Arguably, her rendition was one of the best seen on any Got Talent stage.

In the finale, she impressed once more with “The Show Must Go On” by Queen. Since her audition, her talent had been compared to Britain’s Got Talent icon, Susan Boyle.
