New EPA Sulfur Emission Rules May Hike Gas Prices But Could Save Lives

Oil refineries will now have to remove sulfur from gasoline, decreasing total sulfur levels by 60 percent. The expected reduction in smog will help Americans with respiratory problems like asthma and emphysema, said the EPA. The agency calculates that the new measures will prevent up to 2,000 premature deaths each year and 50,000 cases of respiratory disease in children, and save Americans between $6.

Sanwo-Olu Issues Warning To Travellers Over COVID-19 Tests

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has warned that COVID-19 tests from public health facilities won’t be accepted for travel purposes. Naija News reports that Sanwo-Olu stated this while providing an update on the COVID-19 situation in the state on Sunday. According to the Lagos governor, outbound an inbound travellers should make use of the 21 private laboratories accredited by the Lagos state government for COVID-19 testing. “Anyone wishing to test as a requirement for either outbound or inbound travel or other work-related requirements must do so at any of the 21 private laboratories accredited by Lagos State for COVID testing,” Sanwo-Olu said.
